Description

Make this Arts and Crafts inspired table, with a contemporary triangulated base, and a place to store the leaves under the book matched table top. Set the leaves in and enjoy eating around this table with your family and friends, then hide the leaves away in the special compartment especially made to conceal and protect them. 

Without leaves: 44″ x 56″ (base could handle up to 48″width if you prefer)
With leaves: there are 2 additional 20″ leaves making the length as much as 96″

Receive hand-drawn, full-size custom drawings (36” x 48”), providing design and construction specifications for this Simple Shaker Table. The plans identify parts, accurate dimensions, and joinery visuals. Also included will be a materials list, and suggestions related to finishing.

FREE WITH YOUR PURCHASE: An archived online class which provides (3) 90-minute sessions training during which Tom provides step-by-step instruction on building the table.

TOPICS INCLUDE
• Design – the fine points explained
• Select and prepare the stock
• Mortise and tenon joinery techniques
• Use a simple jig to make the tapered legs on the tablesaw
• Cut pocket holes by hand with just a chisel
• Lay out and glue-up the table top
• Glue up the table base and add pegs
• Use a handplane to quickly make polished surfaces and save sanding time
• Prepare the table for finish
• Discussion 2 types of finish applications: (1) milk painted base and varnished top for country look, (2) varnished cherry table for Shaker style.
